You could try the Clarion Hotel. It’s a brand new building sitting in the city center.
    Then there are:
    Ibis Hotel 021-4354354
    Silversprings Hotel 021-4507533

Good luck and enjoy your trip! :)

This has got to the laziest way of getting a hotel ever! To be honest, I thought your comment was spam when I read it first.

I’m intrigued though, how will the runner-up be chosen, assuming you stay at one hotel?

    You’re some lazy fecker :)

Depends what your other requirements are…
this hotel, Oriel House, in Ballincollig is pretty good reasonable rates, good rating in trip advisor and I have stayed there myself. However it is outside the city center but well accessible - if you don’t drive it’s on major bus routes.

If you can get a room in the Clarion I’d try that. I’d like to check it out myself - looks great! Dead center of the city.

  6. Donal Says:

Ok, ok, you could always try the Metropole. I have apicture of the Clarion which, as frankp says, looks great. I’d imagine it’s not the cheapest though.

Hi Jason, well done, check out the conclusions from my earlier EUR 5 “experiment” http://www.ambrand.com/2006/05/15/free-money/

[...] Copycats: I use the term nicely, I hoped others would copy the idea. So far I found one Jason Roe looked for Hotel Accomodation in Cork (I recommend Jurys Inn Cork, Anderson’s Quay, Cork T 021 4943000 If is the nearest to the Bus Station and Train Station (indeed it has a line of sight to the former and the yard of the latter) as for the Aurport there is Bus Eireann Bus service from there to the aforesaid Bus Station). Roe offered EUR 10 to the winner, and a EUR 5 to the runner up, so the outlay was the same. [...]

In the first edition of Rattleblog we mentioned an Irish blogger who ran a competition where anyone that linked to him could win EUR5. Now comes a twist to this where Jason Roe is running a competition for a hotel recommendation. The best recommendation for a hotel in Cork wins EUR10 and one runner-up wins EUR5. A cheap way of getting someone else to do the work for you. For EUR20 can anyone recommend a cheap ghostwriter?

  12. Hotels Accommodation in Cork, the Oriel Hotel won! - Internet news and trends, tips on online marketing, design and development advice - Jason Roe Says:

[...] Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. I have picked a hotel that was recommended by one of the readers. It was a hard decision to make. I was torn between the Silversprings Hotel suggested by Donncha and the Oriel Hotel Cork suggested by frankp. In the end the Oriel won me over. The hotel is slightly more expensive than the Silversprings Hotel Cork however they included breakfast and seemed to be what I was looking for. [...]
